Founded in 1989, Tourism Concern has undertaken to promote a fair tourism activity, particularly in the redistribution of profits. This UK NGO is therefore working with local communities to try to reduce the negative impacts of tourism. It carries out a great deal of analysis on the impact of tourism on the people and natural environments of tourism regions. Tourism Concern publishes every year a very complete guide (only in English) of the addresses of solidarity tourism organisations in all 5 continents. The Good Alternative Travel Guide also provides contact with small communities that organize visits to their place of life in nearly 40 countries.
