destiny was an amazing hostess, she catered to us and was continuously incredibly friendly towards my friends and i. the atmosphere was comforting, toilets were always clean and smelling fresh and the food was nice. again, go destini!

Je tiens à remercier l’ensemble du personnel Et plus particulièrement Melody Michelle et Shabid. Hôtel très propre, situé à proximité des transports avec un personnel à l’écoute et qui aime son travail et c’est le principal. Il mérite largement les cinq étoiles.
La caution ne m’a pas été prélevé, et les prix restent abordables. Encore merci pour le Séjour au sein de votre établissement Mama Shelter !

Had brunch here for a birthday and it was a wholesome vibe. The food was nice, we received great service and we weren’t pressured to leave at any point. They also provided a cute birthday message brownie to the birthday girl.

We were surprised by the lovely chic accommodations, especially for the price, which was quite affordable compared to a boring Holiday Inn. The design of the lobby was South American/African inspired and was lively, with plenty of locals dining there. The room itself was good, with a seating area. The staff were very sweet and friendly as well. The hotel is just outside of Shoreditch, while you cannot walk to the City or Soho, the hotel is served by multiple transit routes including bus, tube and Overground. Two major bus routes, one of them is a night bus, go right by this hotel, whereby you can go to City or SoHo with just one bus, no changes.

Unfortunately we recently came in for a friends birthday and left with food poisoning. Two nights ago my boyfriend and my friends came in for one of their birthdays, he ordered the fish and chips while the rest of us shared a few starters. Food is really nice and we have been here before, my boyfriend and I for Valentine’s Day and there were no issues it was a lovely meal. However this time around, my boyfriend the next day woke up puking everything out from 8am to 10pm. He was seriously ill and is only just recovering from it. He had nothing else to eat this day so the only thing we can recon it was was the fish that MAMA shelter was serving. I’m very disappointed from this experience and seeing him so ill was quite terrifying. Please be warned on the fish and maybe other “fresh” meat products I wouldn’t wish this upon anyone. I hope the staff and management look into this deeply as it is a major safety concern. Working in a restaurant myself makes me feel really sorry that I have to write a review like this, but I felt as thought it needed to be said. The staff was lovely and our waiter was really nice, he did take ages to come round but I don’t blame him for that it was a little busy and he was the only person serving, you can only blame management for that.

Quelle déception! Déconseillé ⚠️
Ayant déjà effectué des séjours dans d autres hôtels Mama Shelter en France, j ai été très déçue.
Ce n est pas parce qu un hôtel veut être “tendance”, que le personnel doit être sans expérience en hôtellerie et incompétant, tant à la réception, qu au restaurant!
La qualité du petit dej est bas de gamme, entre fruits en boîte et café filtre. On vous demandera de payer un extra si vous souhaitez un Latte 5£ et un chocolat chaud 4£, c est du jamais vu!
Depuis, j ai trouvé que l emplacement n était pas idéal….
Je ne reviendrai pas dans cet hotel lors de mes prochains sejours et ne le recommanderai pas a mes amis.

Pour avoir fréquenté divers Mama Shelter, celui-ci est clairement indigne de la franchise en termes de personnel, dont l’incompétence et l’évanescence ne sont égalées que par l’attitude désagréable. Le naufrage n’est évité que grâce à une poignée d’individualités bienveillantes hélas trop rare (Arthur et Ian).
Il est également surprenant d’apprendre qu’on ne peut consommer sur place que le montant de la caution / respectivement on ne peut mettre à charge de la chambre ce qui est consommé sur place sans l’avoir pré payé. Du jamais vu.
La déco d’usage ne permet pas cette fois ci de sauver les meubles. Une immense déception.
Cinq étoiles pour la cuisine du restaurant en revanche (repas du soir).

Very quirky hotel. Clean. Breakfast plentiful and tasty. Ate 1 evening meal here during 3 nights stay. Good range of options on menu, delicious food.

Ich bin sehr zufrieden, wir hatten einen Notfall da ein AirBnB schief lief und ich mit der ganzen Familie im Regen um 12 Uhr Nachts am Schalter ankam. Die beiden Kollegen am Schaltet waren klasse !!! Wir haben 10% Rabatt auf ein Zimmer im Basement erhalten und konnten endlich duschen/schlafen und am nächsten Tag unsere Dinger klären.

Ravie et à la fois très déçue !
Très bon séjour sûr place l’hôtel très beau !
Mais lors de mon arrivée on m’annonce une caution de 50£ par nuit ce qui ne m’avait jamais été annoncé avant…. Aujourd’hui plus de 3 mois après avoir quitté l’hôtel je n’ai toujours pas reçu ma caution… après plus de 4 mails au service client toujours rien ! On parle de 200€ je trouve ça super dommage venant d’une grande chaîne d’hôtel. On avait adoré notre séjour là bas mais pour le prochain voyage on changera d’hôtel !!

To be honest not helpful at all, the person on the phone was so rude and unhelpful when asked if he could find an alternative we were answered with “find a different place” ok I’m sorry to brake it to the venue - there at people out there that are willing to pay a premium for two people - you’ve lost some money there how very pretty woman of you.

Another ‘funky’ hotel that unfortunately doesn’t do the basics right and instead tries to make up with gimmicks. Not enough staff at breakfast so tables not cleared, had to do it ourself. Food not replaced in buffet quickly and music too loud , it’s breakfast! Room was small as expected but facing into an internal walled area, so no point paying extra for a window view! Bed was very hard as others have mentioned and noise from bar was on till 12 pm . Taking money for extras on card is a bit much when you pay in advance months ahead and I’m still waiting 3 days later for refund.

I popped in to grab a tea, I was seated by a member of staff but nobody came to take my order for ages - it wasn’t busy. I eventually asked the guy at the bar, near to where I was sat, who was talking to a colleague, whether I was supposed to make an order at the bar or if someone was going to come to take the order? - his response “well we’re talking now so I can take it”. No apology, or sorry for the wait, it was as if I was inconveniencing him and he was doing me a favour. Too cool for basic customer service, it doesn’t take much. I told him not to worry, and left.

Rooms are well appointed and comfortable, easy walk to restaurants, bars, bus stop and Overground. Fun and funky vibe, not a boring dud hotel. Would stay here again.

What a venue! No matter where you look it is a spectacle of objects and pattern and beautifully curated interiors.
The room was a little hot when we arrived and the air con wasn't working but it turns out they have to activate it at reception (Just an FYI).
The room was clean and tidy, I don't think it needed such a large table in the room but that's just my personal opinion. Whoever designed the rooms have really thought about how it will be used during the stay which I admired. Large mirror and sockets next to mirrors and somewhere to hang clothes which a lot of hotels miss! Location was ok for north London! Service was good at the barf and with the reception staff. One of the reasons we booked this hotel was for the pin ball machine located in the arcade gaming area (random I know) but unfortunately it was broken. But apart from that a very good nice clean stay. I didnt love the soap for washing your hair so my advice is to bring your own. Very trendy cool place to spend a couple of nights though! And if you love a bit of karaoke you can rent karaoke rooms and play fuze ball in the bar. Real good fun, well done mama shelter!

Another great stay at Mama. One of my favourite places to stay when visiting Lonodn. Well located, easily accessible from a number of Transport options and walking distance from Shoreditch centre. The staff here are always amazing, helpful and polite. Dinner here was delicious and the rooms had a great feel to them. The in-locayion games rooms, gym and laundry room are a big plus

L’hôtel se situe assez loin du centre. Prévoyez du temps et pas mal d’argent pour les transports. Uber, taxis etc… (environ 30/35£ de Huber ou taxi vers Westminster).
L’hôtel est beau, comme tous les Mama. La literie en revanche est très inconfortable. Extrêmement dure (de quelqu’un qui aime les literies fermes…). Pas de dressing ou placard. Les quelques cintres tombent au dessus de la petite table et bouilloire !
La salle d’eau est très petite.

Le personnel du restaurant est tout simplement incompétent. Service d’une lenteur ahurissante, serveurs qui se promènent sans jamais regarder leurs tables. Pareil au bar.

Expérience très mitigée. Je n’y retournerai pas.

A noter : je fréquente régulièrement les Mama Shelter, dans divers pays. Celui ci est TRÈS largement en dessous de tous ceux dans lesquels j’ai séjourné.
