Had afternoon tea here. Very good, but on the pricey side.

We stopped in one evening to enjoy the bar and have a night cap. The ambiance is inviting and uplifting. The ceilings are high and the couches are comfortable. We enjoyed some light snacks and a wonderful Hemingway Daiquiri. The service was exceptional. Highly recommend the bar and lounge. We will have to come back to stay on another visit.

Our family's one-night stay at One Aldwych this weekend exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we checked in until our departure, every experience was delightful. The food was nothing short of delicious, tempting us with every bite. The staff deserves a special mention for their exceptional service; they were not just amazing but super friendly and went out of their way to assist us in every possible aspect. Our room was a haven of comfort with a breathtaking view that added to the charm of our stay. The atmosphere throughout the hotel was incredibly relaxing, allowing us to unwind fully. We left with cherished memories and without a doubt, we highly recommend One Aldwych for anyone looking for an outstanding stay in central London.

We visited One Aldwych on 19th January at 3 PM to visit our daughter and her boyfriend who were staying there.

The doorman at the entrance seemed to have forgotten that it is his job to open the door and greet visitors.

He had a very nasty attitude problem and kept pulling faces. This happened several times during our visit.

Baffled we asked our daughter and her boyfriend and they said they had had the same experience.

It was interesting to note however that those that treated him with contempt and rudeness received a servile and grovelling service.

Could it, perhaps, be that for lower life forms" treat them mean keep them keen" is the only language they understand?

Given that we strive to be polite to doormen and hotel owners alike, is it up to us to modify our behaviour and treat these servants with the contempt they seem to respond to and reserve civilized behaviour for those that appreciate and deserve it?

Apart from your disturbed doorman, everyone else was very polite and made us feel welcome, from the two guys at reception to the bar staff.

However, as a first and last point of contact, to be treated with such rudeness at a hotel that charges nearly £700 per night is surely unacceptable, to put it mildly.
