THE ROOKERY
A little gem with the old-world charm of Smithfields market, brilliantly led by domestic mascot Bagheera the cat.
This little gem of a hotel is just a stone's throw from Smithfields market. Old-fashioned charm and wood-panelled rooms make for a quiet, comfortable stay. Open fires and tea time are the order of the day in the common areas, where the house cat, Bagheera, roams around. For those who can afford it, the Rook's Nest suite is simply breathtaking. The Rookery offers a close-up view of the neighborhood's medieval history, in a building that is itself steeped in history. A truly extraordinary address.

Well,
1. All rooms are wonderful and unique; filled to the brim with antique furniture, books and beds.
Yet,
2. The beds are awesomely comfy with sumptuous linen and what feels like hundreds of pillows
Also,
3. Honesty bar with a nice selection of Gin, Whisky, Vermout and mixers for all your cocktail needs (Martini, G&T) at reasonable prices even
4. The staff is wonderful: typically restrained yet very friendly for London
In conclusion: stay here. You will not regret.
Now one of my favourite hotels!
Be warned, there is no restaurant but breakfast is served in room. But that’s one of the best ideas I have seen…..and they have a House Cat!
