This hotel is probably fine if you are not in rooms 1 to 4, which are all in the basement. Request not to be in Room 2 unless you want to be awoken each day at 6:30 without a wakeup call.
Highly recommended
But then there is Firmdale Hotel Group’s NUMBER SIXTEEN that stands out in the most unassuming way.
Located in South Kensington in a row of classic townhouses at 16 Summer Place. No sign … just traditional gold lettering on the transom over the front door.
Entering the hotel is like you are arriving at a friend’s house for a visit. Kit Kemp, the founder and creative director of Firmdale Hotels has worked her magic in creating a fun, sophisticated, comfortable space … attention to detail is an understatement.
The staff is delightful, the restaurant cozy and charming, the garden magical and the rooms leave nothing to want for. There is an honor bar in one of the two sitting areas for a cocktail or glass of wine. You can also have afternoon tea in these beautiful spaces.
Hyde Park is very close for getting your daily steps in and makes up for the hotel not having any exercise equipment.
All of this and for one of the best prices in London for this quality and location.
I highly recommend Number Sixteen. We can’t wait to go back.
Solo deseamos poder volver!
I had the orecchiette, it was terrible! Any Italian citizen would have returned the dish.
Certainly the bill was way over what we expected to pay for that quality of food and service and we were still charged a wrong price for a bottle of wine. The space is beautiful indeed and super special, but as a restaurant it was disappointed.
Overpriced! Overrated! Avoid!
