Hatchards claims to be the UK's oldest bookshop, located right next door to Fortnum & Mason. It was opened in 1797 at 173 Piccadilly by John Hatchard. It was also present at St. Pancras station. It has since moved to 187. We love its old-fashioned green façade with bow windows and carpeted staircases. It's a real paradise for readers of all kinds. You'll even find signed editions and first editions. It's a delight to stroll through its many floors, leafing through its rare gems.
