Wigmore Hall, with its excellent acoustics, is world-renowned for its chamber music concerts and recitals. The 545-seat hall programs over 400 concerts a year! Most are broadcast on the BBC. It was originally built between 1899 and 1901 by C. Bechstein Pianofortefabrik, the German piano manufacturer whose showroom was next door. It was designed by the same architect as the Savoy Hotel in Renaissance style. It is renowned for its excellent acoustics.
