Don't miss the fireworks over the Thames if you're visiting in November. Or the burning effigy of Guy Fawkes...
The famous folk event takes place across Britain every year on November 5. It commemorates the anniversary of the Powder Conspiracy, when English Catholics led by Robert Catesby, Guy Fawkes and 11 other conspirators attempted to blow up Parliament. But the attempt failed. The effigy of Guy Fawkes, arrested in 1605, is now burned in a bonfire during the event. Fireworks and firecrackers explode everywhere. It's a party not to be missed!
