THE OVAL
In the Kennington district, The Oval is the capital's other cricket field, the Surrey County Cricket Club Stadium. The Oval is less select than the Lord's. It also hosts international matches and also the very first final of the English Cup in 1872. But the atmosphere is more popular and lively, and the neighbourhood has nothing to do with the chic of St. John's Wood. But the atmosphere is there and so is the sport! There is a restaurant on site. What could be more English than attending a cricket match in the capital?
