Camden Market is surely London's most famous market. It's also the largest, comprising several markets in one. It's a must-see on any visit to the British capital. It opened in 1974, initially on a temporary basis, with just 15 stalls, open only on Sundays. It was located in the backyard of Dingwalls, the city's legendary concert hall where Blondie, the Sex Pistols, the Rolling Stones and the Ramones have performed. At Camden Lock and Camden Canal Markets, you'll find designer boutiques, while at Stables Market you'll find crafts, art and furniture. The indoor Electric Market specializes in Gothic-style velvet jackets, faux furs and extravagant jewelry. Part of the market is also dedicated to food, with great street-food options from around the world. On the night of Sunday 9 to Monday 10 July 2017, a fire ravaged part of the market. Unfortunately, this is a recurring phenomenon, having already occurred in 2014 and 2008.
