Astana has had its own self-service bike system since July 2014. Over a thousand bikes are available, spread across more than 200 stations. If you'd like to take advantage of it, you'll need to register and leave a deposit with bank imprint (VISA, Mastercard). You can do this very easily on the dedicated website www.velobike.kz (in Russian or Kazakh).
Rates: the first 30 minutes are free, then the bill rises to KZT 2,500 for 30 minutes, KZT 3,500 for 1 hour and so on. Some electric bikes are available, but are more expensive.
