The long-distance bus station is located next to the railway station, at the end of Birzhan Street, a small extension of Zhengis Avenue. Here, you can take scheduled buses, or board private minibuses and shared cabs that leave when full. In this case, you may have to be patient while waiting for the departure, and negotiate the fare. They tend to wait in front of the station, and you'll have no trouble finding them thanks to the touts. Destinations served are mainly Karaganda, Pavlodar and Borovoye.
