Budget hotels are rare in Astana, and the Tourist is one of the best addresses in this category. Ideally located on the main street in the city center, the rooms have been fairly well maintained (the establishment dates back to 1984) and offer good value for money. The more expensive rooms, which are still negotiable, are equipped with air conditioning, TV and en-suite bathrooms. Its imposing size - 258 beds - makes it a little impersonal, but as we've told you, there's no need to be too demanding in Astana.
