Courageous work has enabled the museum to be modernized and reopened in 2022, taking an in-depth look at a theme which, in the interests of not antagonizing the Russian big brother, was generally underdeveloped in Kazakh museums. Dedicated to the victims of the great trials of 1937-1938, the museum's 12 sections look back at the various outbursts of the Kazakh population in the face of Soviet domination, and the brutal repression put in place by Moscow to curb them.
