There are two must-see addresses in Tajikistan, at least if you are looking to meet other travellers: the Pamir Hotel in Mourghab, and the Pamir Lodge in Khorog. Still in a bourlingueurs atmosphere, where 4x4s rub shoulders with long-distance travellers' motorcycles and bicycles between two washes drying above a table tennis table, this establishment in the heights of the city has found the right recipe with cheap dormitory beds and invigorating breakfasts. Single rooms offer a little more comfort, certainly, without being worth the posted price. But after weeks in the Wakhan or Pamir, having your own bathroom is an invaluable luxury! Good atmosphere and good drop-off point to be on the lookout for good plans.
