BAZAR DE TOLKUSHKA
Go there and contact
The bazaar works on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, but it is strongly recommended to go on Sunday, the only day the animal market beats its full. The mornings are more active than the afternoons, but there is no need to go to the aurores. The bazaar is 5 km from the city, very close to the airport.
Tolkushka's bazaar is the largest and most vibrant in Central Asia. The part reserved for animals, located about 300 m from the rest of the bazaar, is particularly impressive: camels, horses, sheep, goats, cows and poultry change hands in indescribable chaos. The operation of "camel cranes" is a great moment.
In the bazaar itself, a small part is devoted to craft objects. Carpets, jewellery and traditional clothing can be found at competitive prices. The rest of the market is a classic of Central Asia, but in large proportions: fruits, vegetables, restaurant shops, clothing, various and varied utensils, and even auto parts…
