MUSEUM OF MARY

The museum is located in a splendid Russian house with wood, with carved doors and beams. The house is almost more interesting than the museum itself, visibly poorly attended: The keeper lights up and turns off the lights as the progression progresses. Nevertheless, the ground floor presents some beautiful pieces from the excavations of Merv and Dashogus (but the most precious ones are in Ashgabat). A second room is devoted to the history of the past dynasties and empires in Turkmenistan: . for non-specialists. Finally, the first floor presents traditional costumes and local jewellery, as well as the reconstitution of a yurt.
