THE PALAIS

It covers a surface of 135 m on 130 m, very large dimensions for the bronze age. It consists of three halls, one of which was intended for the throne, the other for the temple, and the third was a waiting room. It is surrounded by two rows of ramparts. The entrance of the palace is done by a tiny door, which only reinforces the impression of the immensity of the rooms on which it is produced. The traces of wooden columns that supported the roof can still be seen, as well as the principle of the main angles used for decorative purposes (an architectural principle found in Crete). This technique was apparently reserved for administrative and religious buildings. The soil and walls were covered with alabaster, which can still be seen some residues.
The room has a small platform that popular it with the waiting room. The base of a marble column is still visible between the two halls. The two major niches on both sides of the throne were probably intended to host statues of gods, although no statue was found on the site.
