MONESTIR DE SANT PERE
This monastery had a great political influence during the 12th and 13th centuries.
Of the Benedictine monastery founded in 994, only the church remains, consecrated in 1003 by Count Bernat I, the most important count in local history, known as "Tallaferro". His abbot became the ruler of the town in 1111 when the county was abolished, and the monastery enjoyed great political influence during the 12th and 13th centuries. The eight columns, separating the nave from the main altar, are carved with biblical scenes and mythical animals. Many religious are buried under the pavement of the church.
