ANCHOVY AND SALT MUSEUM
Museum installed in a building built in 1913, tracing the methods of extraction of salt and the processes of salting.
Inaugurated in 2006, this museum, housed in a building built in 1913, logically pays tribute to what has made L'Escala famous: the salting of its anchovies. The visit begins with an audiovisual presentation. The different rooms then retrace the history of this fishery as well as the methods of salt extraction and salting processes, from the 16th century to the present day. Since 1997, it also organizes the salt festival which is held every third Saturday of September.
