CHURCH OF SANTA MARIA DE PALAMÓS
Visit this gothic church with a collection of sacred art and a large altarpiece from the 16th century
Erected in 1416, on a former chapel built in 1349, this Gothic church houses a collection of sacred art as well as a large 16th century altarpiece by Isaac Hermes Vermey. Its most characteristic feature is the Council Tower, which was incorporated into the church in the 16th century and which owes its name to its function as the home of the government bodies responsible for the application of the privileges granted to the city of Palamós. It is accessed from the church's choir.
