The Turó(hill) dels Guíxols is the first place inhabited by the Iberian population and includes the Salvament Marítim hut (late 19th century), the machine gun nest built during the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) and the town's old medieval port. Inside the Maritime Rescue Hut, there is a lifeboat, original utensils and images of the work of volunteers who risked their lives to save shipwrecked people. A unique building and collection in the Mediterranean.
