ESGLÉSIA PARROQUIAL DE SANT ESTEVE
Primitive church at 34 m height above the passers-by preserving the remains of its Romanesque portal.
Mentioned as early as 972, the church of Sant Esteve was completely rebuilt between 1940 and 1942. Only the bell tower of the old Gothic church has been preserved. The rest was dismantled by the Construction and Trade Union Authorities during the Spanish Civil War. Perforated with Gothic windows, it presides over the historic centre, rising 34 metres above the passers-by. At the foot of the latter, observe the remains of the Romanesque portal. It bears witness to the primitive church on which the Gothic temple was erected.
