Old parish church of Romanesque origin with a superb Gothic altarpiece housing a radiating chapel of Gothic style.
Of Romanesque origin, the old parish church of Sant Esteve (it remained so until 1737) is part of a complex consisting of an old cemetery (where the architect Manuel Raspall, among others, is buried) and old stables. It later underwent several modifications, including the addition of a pyramidal bell tower during the 15th century and the addition of a side nave, a portal and a radiating Gothic-style chapel. The central nave, which ends in a rectangular apse, is crowned by a series of crenellations giving the religious building a fortified appearance. Take a walk inside and admire its superb 15th-century Gothic altarpiece dedicated to Sant Esteve, the work of Vergós' workshop. A fake municipality dating from the Civil War has also been uncovered in the cemetery.
