MUSEU DE LES ESQUELLES
Small museum suggesting an unusual visit to discover the astonishing collection of nearly 1,000 sketches
Unusual visit: this small museum presents a permanent exhibition on the history of the village and the Montseny Natural Park through large illuminated panels retracing the relationship between man and his territory. On the first floor, an astonishing collection of nearly 1,000 esquelles ("bells" in French), bells attached to the necks of farm animals. It was collected by a pastor from Montseny, Jaume Traveria Vila, and his wife Montserrat Garriga i Pujo. Some of them are made from animal bones or wood, others are engraved.
