MAIN THEATRE
The second oldest theater in Catalonia to have preserved its original structure, built by the architect Lluis Homs
This theater is the second oldest in Catalonia to have retained its original structure. It was built between 1845 and 1851 by the architect Ignasi Jordan and decorated by the painter and stage designer Joesp Planella. In 1882, the architect Lluís Homs completed the decoration of the sumptuous façade. The interior, of Italian type, has no less splendid decorative elements of neoclassical style. Closed for a few years for renovation, it reopened its doors in January 1998. It hosts theatrical performances, concerts and opera.
