There is a deep cave in the bowels of the city which was first discovered in 1996 during work in the old city. Further explorations revealed a well dating back to Roman times and a whole network of galleries. Today, the S.I.E.T. or Societat d'Investigacions Espeleológiques de Tarragona is in charge of the visits and offers to the amateurs to follow them to the center of the earth... Other activities are possible in the area such as via ferrata or scuba diving.
