Quite an impressive place and well worth a walk in Tarragona
Of the six ancient quarries of the Roman Tarraco, that of El Mèdol is the largest: over 200 meters long, there is a limestone in blocks of sometimes 40 meters thick, a pinkish-white material that was used in antiquity to build the majority of the important buildings of the Roman Tarraco. The place is quite impressive and deserves a little walk. Some walls, almost perfectly vertical, are up to 12 meters high.
