CASA MUSEO CASTELLARNAU - MUSEU D'HISTÒRIA DE TARRAGONA
Casa Museo Castellarnau is a museum housed in a restored aristocratic residence in Tarragona. The museum houses furniture and decorative objects dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. The house museum offers visitors a glimpse into the daily life of a noble family in the second half of the 18th century, with its pictorial decorations, old kitchen, ballrooms and bedrooms. In addition to this, Casa Castellarnau has an older history, with Roman remains of the representation square, the medieval city walls and the old houses of the rue dels Cavallers. Before being transformed into a palace by the Castellarnau family, the house was made up of independent dwellings belonging to noble and wealthy families, including Emperor Charles during his visit to Tarragona in 1542. Casa Castellarnau is a must-see place to discover Tarragona's history.
