City that houses one of the most important defensive systems of the Iberian Peninsula, dominated by its castle of the Suda
The city is home to one of the most important defensive systems in the Iberian Peninsula, dominated by the Suda Castle. This imposing system can be discovered by following the "Route of the Fortifications" set up by the Tourist Office, an itinerary marked out with explanatory signs that passes through the Avançades de Sant Joan, the medieval castle, the princely gardens, the Plaça de l'Immaculada, the Passeig de Ronda and the Torre del Célio, a fine example of a circular defensive tower and the highest point of the Remolins wall.
