PURÍSSIMA CONVENT
Convent whose interior is endowed with paintings of Francesco Patero of Naples in Tortosa
The Convent of La Puríssima was inaugurated in 1644 with the arrival of a handful of nuns from the Santa Clara convent. Partly destroyed during the Civil War, the convent became a prison before its restoration, which was completed in 1964, allowing the conservation of the works of Juan Ibáñez, author of the frescoes of the vaults and walls of the church. Inside, the paintings by Francesco Patero of Naples (1655), the vaults sublimated with sgraffiti and floral motifs, and the altar carved with the Holy Christ of the Purísima (1635) are noteworthy.
