SANTA MARIA CHURCH
Medieval church of baroque and gothic isabeline style, hosting large exhibitions, in the neighborhood of the Villa, in Requena.
Located in the neighborhood of La Villa, the church of Santa María de Requena, built between the 14th and 18th centuries, is one of the three churches that were founded in the Middle Ages in this city, along with El Salvador and San Nicolas. It has preserved its entrance portal, in the Isabelline Gothic style, and its interior in the Baroque style. It was declared a national historic monument in 1931. Since the beginning of the 21st century, it is no longer dedicated to worship, but is used to host large exhibitions or as a concert hall.
