HOTEL CARO * * * * *
Hotel located in the heart of the historic district with contemporary and minimalist design rooms
Inaugurated in 2012, it is one of the little jewels of the Valencian hotel industry. Located in the heart of the city, near Plaza San Luis Bertrán and Almudín, this is a hotel-museum, housed in the former Gothic palace of the Marquis de Caro, after 7 years of careful renovation. The initial idea: to show 2,000 years of Valencian history through prestigious remains. Upon arrival, this 5-star luxury hotel now offers 25 rooms with a contemporary and minimalist design (and a luxurious suite, the Marquis' Suite), spread over 4 floors, but also some strategic symbols of Valencia's history. During the visit, we will find the medieval staircase which has been preserved from the original building, Roman mosaics dating from the 2nd century BC. (perhaps the oldest in Valencia) or the old attics with 19th century coffered vaulted ceilings. Another strong element is the 12th century Arab wall that runs through the establishment and whose foundations now house the hotel's gourmet restaurant, Sucede, which has been Michelin-starred since 2017. Entrusted to Francesc Rifé, the interior design lightly adds almost ascetic touches of modernity to this majestic building. The establishment also has two pretty indoor terraces; one reserved for hotel guests, and the other, adjoining the bar, will allow you to have a drink, if you don't have the chance to stay there.
