ESTACIÓN DEL NORTE
Railway station at the entrance of the historical center of Valencia, one of the emblematic buildings of the Valencian civil architecture.
Located at the entrance to the historic centre, right next to the bullring, Valencia Railway Station is a modernist building and one of the most emblematic constructions of the Valencian civil architecture. Built between 1906 and 1917 by the Valencian architect Demetrio Ribes, the building forms part of the Vienna Secession course, the most radical branch of Art Nouveau style, with its linear forms, as opposed to the classic forms of modernism modernism. Inside, the walls and ceilings of ceramics pay homage to the Valencian agriculture with motifs representing oranges and orange flowers. The finesse of the woodwork and the profusion of colourful mosaics offer a striking spectacle. By entering from the street, on the right, a room recounts the stages of its construction.
