VALLDIGNA PORTAL
This portal of the Barrio del Carmen, is an arch built in 1400 as a gateway between the Christian Valencia and the Morería
Located in the barrio del Carmen, not far from the Mosen Sorel market, this gate is in fact an arch built in 1400 to serve as a gateway between Christian and noble Valencia and the Morería. In Valencian Gothic style, it is formed by a semicircular arch, restored in 1965. On this portal, we will find a reproduction of the original altarpiece, dedicated to the Virgin and placed there. It represents King James II of Aragon founding the monastery of Valldigna, with an inscription: " Aquesta vall per a vos causa ", this valley for your cause.
