PUENTE DE LA TRINIDAD
Gothic style bridge built in the 15th century on the remains of a wooden Arab bridge
Built in the 15th century on the remains of a wooden Arabic bridge, it is the oldest bridge in the city. In Gothic style, and the work of Pedro Viñes, it rests on a base of ten slightly pointed arches, with buttresses and dikes. It has long sheltered Alzira's patron saints, who were withdrawn during the war of independence against the French. And were replaced in 1950 by the statues that were on the Sant Josep Bridge, those of San Luis Bertran and Santo Tomás de Villanueva. The northern part of this golden-coloured bridge communicates with the Jardines del real, better known as the Viveros and the southern part provides access to the city's historic centre.
