HOUSE MUSEUM BLASCO IBAÑEZ
House-museum, with neo-Greek architecture, on the beach of Malvarrosa, an address to know better Blasco Ibanez.
Whether you are in love with literature or a fan of architecture, if there is a place to be missed, it is this one. Located on the edge of the Malvarrosa beach, the Museo Blasco Ibañez is a good example of the neo-Greek architecture of the early twentieth century, a work of Vicente Bochons. From the first glance, the ionic style pillars and the cariátides adorning its first floor and its garden will be noticed. Inaugurated in summer 2007, after 3 years of renovation, what was the old house of the writer today hosts a museum dedicated to his memory. Rather reserved for demonstrations, the ground floor is also used for the presentation of temporary exhibitions. But it is on the first floor that you will find the museum itself, bringing together everything that constituted its daily environment: furniture, porcelain, miniatures, photographs, not to mention fans of his wife and daughter, and objects brought from abroad by this fervently traveling writer. On this floor, a space is also devoted to his great passion for Argentina and furniture from the daily newspaper El Pueblo, which he founded in 1894 to disseminate his republican ideas. On the second floor, lovers of literature will be able to see many first editions of its books and the works of writers who influenced it.
