IVAM - VALENCIAN INSTITUTE OF MODERN ART
Beautiful art collections in a modern art museum in Valencia, one of the first in Spain.
Inaugurated in 1989, it is one of the first modern art museums built in Spain. At its beginnings, the permanent collection consisted of nearly 400 works by the Catalan sculptor Julio González (1876-1942), to whom the museum owes much of its initial prestige. The Ivam's own collection now amounts to more than 10,000 works, the selection of which is mainly focused on abstract, modern and futuristic art. Photography also holds an important place in the museum's collection.
