AULA GRIAL
Interpretation Center of the Holy Grail in an old Valencian house from the end of the 19th century.
Located in an old Valencian house dating back to the end of the 19th century and inaugurated at the beginning of October 2018, this new space is intended to be an interpretation centre of the Holy Grail, in a resolutely modern and attractive way, both visual and audiovisual, but also interactive. At the head of the company, the writer Alicia Palazón, author of two books on this subject and passionate lover of Valencia and its traditions. On the ground floor, a small reception area recreates a traditional Valencian house from the late 19th century, with its furniture, clothing and funeral rites. You can wait until the beginning of the visit, which takes place in small groups of about ten people. Throughout the visit, on the first floor, you will be accompanied by a soundtrack which can be in French, to ask at the reception desk. The objective is to transport you to the universe of Jerusalem in Christ's time, recreating customs, tableware, etc. You will also follow the circuit made by the holy relic to travel from Jerusalem to Valencia, with a 360° virtual visit of the chapel of the Holy Calice. You will also learn how it has inspired literature, opera and painting. The emphasis being on sensory experimentation, for example, you will have the opportunity to smell the spices of the time, to play at recognizing what the meal may have been like during the last supper, to light incense and even to make a selfie in Benedictine clothing. This last point will be more fun than in relation to the subject matter. Allow about two hours for a visit that should be of interest to audiences of all ages.
