PASTELERIA ALFONSO MARTINEZ
Founded in 1886, it is one of the oldest pastry shops in Valencia, now run by the third generation of Martinez-Chanza, and more particularly by the master pastry chef Toni Martinez. Without hesitation, you can go there to taste the fartóns, the typical Valencian pastries that are particularly tasty here, as well as the bonatio pastels (a kind of fritter filled with sweet potato and flavoured with cinnamon and aniseed). One of the classics of Valencian Christmas desserts but which you will find here all year round. Also try the aniseed rollitos or panquemados, other typical sweets, eaten classically at Easter. If you are lucky enough to come by during the Valencian Community's fiesta, on October 9th, you will find all the marzipan animals. As well as the scarves that make it possible to offer them as it is also the festival of lovers.
