MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS CASA DE L'ENSENYANÇA
An impressive collection of paintings and sculptures, from the 16th century to the present day, in a museum in Xativa.
This is the last major museum achievement in Xàtiva. This Fine Arts Museum will need 10 years of work and an investment of € 4,4 billion. Inaugurated in large pumps at the beginning of 2015 with a provisional exhibition of paintings by Joaquín Sorolla, he today welcomed two floors of collections devoted to painting and sculpture from the th century to the contemporaire era. And it's on the second floor that you can see the portrait hanging over Philippe V, one of the museums'curiosities. Indeed, Philippe V ordered the destruction of the city during the succession war. As a revenge, the portrait of the monarch is exposed to the bottom!
