MODERNIST HOUSE MUSEUM
A superb house-museum to visit in Novelda, one of the best preserved in the city.
Built in 1903 and saved from demolition by a local banking company in 1975, this three-story museum house is one of the best preserved. It is decorated and furnished in the Art Nouveau style. Note the courtyard surrounded by white marble columns, the beautiful staircase and the ironwork of the railings covering the windows and balconies. Another house worth visiting is the former residence of the Counts of Gómez-Tortosa (late 19th century) where the tourist office is located. Its interior shows the decoration and distribution of bourgeois houses.
