IGLESIA DE SANTIAGO
Gothic church with a main door in Isabeline Gothic style and remarkable rectory and chapel in Orihuela.
Built on one of the old mosques of the city, its construction dates back to the early fifteenth century, but this first Gothic work has undergone profound changes due to reforms and expansions made from the sixteenth to eighteenth centuries. Its main door is in Isabeline Gothic style. Inside, the Renaissance presbytery in the form of a triumphal arch and the chapel dedicated to the Sagrada Familia are noteworthy. This group of sculptures was created in 1765 and 1766 by Francisco Salzillo, one of the greatest Spanish sculptors of the 18th century.
