Artists' village with several studios and exhibition spaces
The Cattle Depot Artist Village, not far from the old Kai Tak airport, is an alternative arts center nestled in a former slaughterhouse dating from 1908. Converted in 2001, this listed site now offers studios and galleries housing a community of local artists. Its red-brick buildings and inner courtyards exude a certain industrial charm. Exhibitions of contemporary art, experimental installations and events can be found here.
