This is where all trains come from the other stations in China (but not fast trains). From this station you can reach Canton/Guangzhou, Guilin, Nanning and Chengdu, to Beijing and Shanghai. As far as intra-Yunnan destinations are concerned, the network is currently very poorly developed, except for Xiaguan (Dali) and Lijiang. Since an attack in the spring of 2014, this station has been placed under high security. Don't be surprised to pass multiple police controls.
