The Muslim quarter of Jianshui is organized around the mosque (清真寺) at the extreme northeast of the city centre towards Mashi Jie Street. This small, popular quarter is nestled in a maze of small streets surrounded by brick houses. Beware, the mosque is forbidden to non-Muslims, you can admire the exterior building only. The Muslim community of Jianshui has just under 1 000 people.
