MUSEO DE ANTROPOLOGIA & HISTORIA
Go there and contact
Declared a national historic monument, it was built between 1929 and 1931 by the Ministry of Public Works under Gómez. Renovated, it consists of an anthropological part with a collection of précolombiens objects (ceramics, funeral boxes, musical instruments) but also remains of mastodons, glyptodons and ancestors of the area. The historical part aligns dedicated halls in Bolívar, Gómez and other Venezuelan presidents. The museum also evokes the memory of San Francisco de Cara, a colonial village engulfed by the waters of the Barrage dam. Restored in 2008 thanks to the new direction, the museum has beautiful days before it.
