CAURA LODGE

Excursions start in Puerto Ordaz or Ciudad Bolívar. 4 hours is enough to reach the Cauralodge camp located in Las Trincheras (1 ^st and 4 ^th nights), night in hammock or in one of the 6 double rooms with nets, bathroom and fan. During the tour at the Salto Para, you spend the second night at the camp in El Playón and the third on the island of Yokore, idyllic and ideal for bathing (in dry season a beautiful beach is formed, surrounded by granite rocks, almost like in the Seychelles!). Its traditional constructions were frequented by a few agoutis and other agamis, not to mention two caïmans and a tarentule. Do not hesitate to undertake a night walk: This is the best time to surprise animals… provided you have a lamp and watch where you walk.
