CATEDRAL

It dominates Place Bolívar, but suffered greatly during the defeat of the Spaniards during the conquest that rage everything on their passage. Its restoration began in 1770, and it was only in 1840 that it was inaugurated thanks to the efforts of Dr. Mariano de Talavera y Garcés, Bishop of Guyana. It regained its original appearance in 1949. The original plans were lost, and it was thanks to the archives of India that the structure was recovered. It is in front of one of his walls that the chief General, Manuel Piar, is shot on October 16, 1817, accused of conspiracy and treason.
