CHÂTEAU DU NOUVEAU WINDSTEIN
Castle built in 1339, the ruins include a residential tower, geminated windows, a residential tower and a bastion
In 1339, Guillaume de Windstein had this castle built to replace the old one. Some ten years later, the castle was divided into four parts, but in 1413 the Bishop of Speyer succeeded in buying back the whole complex. Now in ruins, what remains is a large residential tower defended by a blind shield wall on the attack side, a barbican with numerous firing embrasures, a large hall, geminated windows, a residential tower and a pentagonal bastion.
